Deep pass profile rectification
What is deep-pass profile rectification?
Deep-pass profile grinding is an advanced technology that enables the machining of complex profiles with micrometer precision and high productivity: grooves, threads, teeth, notches, etc. Unlike conventional grinding, this method removes a large amount of material in a single pass, while guaranteeing a high-quality surface finish and perfect repeatability.
Micron-level geometry
Profile grinding does not generate any burning, ensuring that the surface remains intact and undamaged. The parts are abundantly lubricated with nozzles adapted to the profiles, thus limiting any risk of thermal shock.
This technique proves more competitive on materials such as Inconel, superalloys, or Astalloy, particularly due to a significantly lower tooling cost (grinding wheel) compared to conventional carbide tools. Furthermore, continuous grinding ensures the constant regeneration of the grinding wheel profile, guaranteeing consistent quality of the ground profile.

Advantages of deep phase grinding:
- Significant material removal with high precision
- No thermal shock (no surface or core burning, no cracking)
- Machining after heat treatment
- No burrs or bulges
- Homogeneous surface finish
- Less residual stress generated in the part after grinding
